ALTERNATIVE FINGER PAINTING
A lesson in texture and design from Jane Sanders, a student at Wheelock College, Boston Mass.WHAT YOU NEED: - flour
- plastic gloves (avoid latex gloves to prevent allergic reactions).
- tempera paint
- heavy paper or oaktag
WHAT YOU DO: - Fill gloves with flour, until full. Then knot the opening (sealing the contents tight).
- Have Children feel the glove and discuss the texture.
- Have students dip each "hand" into the paint. The students will use the "hand" as a brush and print on the paper.
- For variations, fill gloves with different items (beans, rice) for different textures!
