PINE BRANCH PAINTING
Grade: K-2
Age: 6-8
Submitted by H. Williams, a teacher at Springville Elementary in Springview, New York.
Objectives:
Students will use different media, techniques and processes to communicate ideas, experiences and stories.
What you Need:
- pine tree branches (small)
- green paint
- white construction paper
- red ribbon and glitter
What You Do:
- Children will add green paint to a small pine tree branch.
- Then, they will press the branch onto a piece of white construction paper.
- Press again in another spot or re-paint the branch before pressing again. Usually, several pressings can be made onto one paper.
- Sprinkle some glitter sparingly onto branch painting.
- Tie a red ribbon into a small bow and glue onto the painting when dry.
- This is great fun for the children.
Note: Try experimenting with different color combinations to see what turns up!
