Objectives:
Students will learn the proper technique for gluing.
What You Need:
Glue
Paper
What You Do:
While teaching the students how to use their glue without using more than what is needed I made up this little saying:
Dot Dot Stingy pot
Don't be a squirt.
I explain to the students what a stingy pot is- one who does not give very much, and the double meaning of squirt--one who does not follow the rules and glue that pours out of the bottle.
I explain to them it is okay to be a stingy pot while gluing. It's really funny to teach my students this in the kindergarten and have them repeat it in the fourth grade.
When I see someone squirting their glue rather than call out their name I just say Dot Dot Stingy pot Don't be a Squirt. They correct themselves very quickly.
