PERSONALIZED CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS
Grade: K-6
Age: 4-12
Submitted by: Judith Walsh, an art educator from Mt. Zion Elementary in Suffolk Virginia.
Objectives:
Students will use creativity and imagination in designing their own stockings.
What You Need:
What You Do:
- I give my students a stocking pattern to use with the option of using it or not.
- Students will trace around pattern or draw their own stocking.
- Next, they will cut it out.
- Then they can decorate their stocking.
- I like to use the patchwork effect by coloring squares of color and connecting them with little black "stiches" using the crayon.
- Be sure students leave the top of the stocking white.
- Then I go around and write their names on the top of their stockings with glue in cursive and cover it with glitter.
- My children absolutely love this!!! I am the BEST art teacher because I can write their names in glue! This just fascinates them! From K - 5th grade! They love the outcome and they do turn out very pretty. I hope you try this neat idea.
Have fun and Happy Holidays!
