3 recipes for making non-toxic finger paint.

Idea #1

Add food coloring to any one of these to make your own finger paint:

  • wallpaper paste
  • toothpaste
  • vanilla pudding
  • shaving cream
  • hand lotion
  • Vaseline

Idea #2

Ingredients:

  • electric mixer
  • 1 cup whipped cream (the whip-your-own kind that comes in a carton)
  • food coloring

Directions:

Put 1 cup of whipped cream in a mixing bowl and mix with electric mixer until stiff.

Add food coloring until you reach the desired color.

Let kids paint on paper (finger painting paper, wax paper, etc.) and have fun!

Idea #3

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups cold water
  • food coloring

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in sauce pan, except for the food coloring.

Boil until mixture thickens. Keep stirring! This might take 10 to 15 minutes. Stop as soon as the mixture is thick.

Let cool.
