Painted Heart Blottos

Painted Heart Blottos
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Kids can make fun painted designs, with a heart theme, using paint, fold and press techniques.

What You Need:

  • Paper
  • Tempera paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Containers for water
  • Newspapers or vinyl placemats

What You Do:

  1. Fold paper in half.
  2. Paint half a heart on one side of the paper.
  3. Fold paper closed again and press.
  4. The paint will mix and blend.
  5. Open the paper to reveal the designs.
  6. If you like, you can let the paint dry, outline the heart and do the process again — creating many hearts on the paper.

OR

  1. Fold paper in half.
  2. Draw half a heart on one side of the paper.
  3. Cut the heart out of the paper.
  4. Drop paint on one side of the heart.
  5. Fold paper closed again and press.
  6. The paint will mix and blend.
  7. Open the paper to reveal the designs.
