Charley Harper was an incredible artist and illustrator who is best known for his stylized, simplified interpretations of nature and wildlife.

Students will learn about Charley as they create a paper collage of a chickadee, inspired by his iconic bird images.

The image can be created as a winter scene, or a summer scene! Our club members love it!

What You Need:

  • Thick white paper (Sulphite), 9″ x 12″ (one sheet per student)
  • Thick white paper (Sulphite), 6″ x 9″ (one sheet per student)
  • Construction paper (light blue) 4 1/2″ x 12″ (one per student)
  • Yellow construction paper (scraps)
  • Pencils/erasers (optional)
  • Black Sharpie markers
  • Markers (or colored pencils or crayons)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
