Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Students can make baby chick paintings using their fingerprints.

By Rachael Lydick [Rachael is a teacher at Searles Elementary ]

What You Need:

  • Yellow tempera paint
  • Wash tubs
  • Large construction paper
  • Glue

What You Do:

Each student can choose a piece of construction paper for the background.

Have students come up one at a time, to gently dip their fingers in the yellow tempera paint.

Each will place a finger on their paper, making one or more fingerprints.

They can clean their fingers in the wash tub.

Once the paint has  can then decorate their fingerprints to look like a new spring chick.
