Ice Cream in a Bag

Make ice cream in a bag.

Learn how to make your own homemade ice cream in a bag. Your kids will LOVE this!

What You Need:

  • ice
  • coffee cream
  • sugar
  • vanilla
  • salt (rock salt, if you can get it)
  • 1 pint size ziploc® bag
  • 1 gallon size ziploc® bag

What You Do:

In the pint size ziploc® bag add about a cup of cream, a teaspoon of vanilla, and a teaspoon or two of sugar.

Then seal the bag closed (make sure to get the air out). In fact, it’s not a bad idea to use two bags, just to be safe.

In the gallon size bag put several ice cubes and about 2 or 3 tablespoons of salt.

Put the smaller bag inside of the big bag, on top of the ice.

Then seal the bag closed (make sure to get the air out).

Have the children rub and shake the big bag for 1 to 2 minutes.

Periodically open the bags to see if you can see that the consistency of the mixture has become slushy.

When ready, scoop and serve.

Be careful not to let the contents of the big bag get into the small bag.
