Got pinecones? Make some terrific ornaments for the holidays.

By Andrea Mulder-Slater

What You Need:

  • pinecones
  • glitter
  • glue (white glue)
  • string or yarn
  • scissors
  • optional: felt pieces
  • optional: red, green and white ribbon
  • optional: hot glue

What You Do:

Pinecones make terrific Christmas ornaments and you can use a variety of supplies to dress them up.

To begin with, we dabbed some glue on the edges of a pinecone.

Then, we sprinkled some glitter on the wet glue.

Then, we attached a string (for hanging) using some hot glue.

Another option is to add some curly ribbon and bits of felt to the top of the pinecone, for an added bit of pizazz.

Try it yourself and see what develops.
